Spent the morning with eighteenth century pamphlets that take forever to make a point about liberty, then read coverage of the Sydney Sweeney Novig advert, which made its point in thirty seconds flat and has not stopped being discussed since.
Wrote a few pages comparing rhetorical patience then and now. The pamphlets win on restraint. The advert wins on everything else.
